What Happens During Pool Installation?

The process of installing an in-ground vinyl pool with cinderblock/concrete reinforced walls and an automatic cover typically involves the following steps, from the initial consultation to the completion of the project:

  1. Consultation and Design: The first step is for one of Pools and Projects’ specialized staff to meet with you to discuss your vision for your pool, including size, shape, features, and budget. We will then create a design plan that meets your needs and preferences.

  2. Permits and Approvals: Once the design plan is finalized, we will obtain the necessary permits and approvals from the local city offices.

  3. Excavation and Foundation: The next step is for Pools and Projects to excavate the area for the pool and create the foundation using cinderblock walls. This involves digging a hole to the desired depth and then installing a cinderblock wall reinforced with steel rebar and concrete and then covering all of the walls and floor with pool crete to create a solid smooth surface for the vinyl liner.

4. Plumbing and Electrical: After the foundation is complete, Pools and Projects will
install the necessary plumbing and electrical systems, including a pump, filter, heater, salt cell chlorinator, LED lights, and automation, so that you can control your pool equipment and lights from your phone.

5. Vinyl Liner Installation: The vinyl liner is then installed over the pool crete covered cinderblock walls and floor. The liner is custom-made to fit the shape and size of the pool and is secured in place with a bead receiver system.

6. Decking and Finishing: The area around the pool is then finished with concrete or other decking, if desired. Pools and Projects will also install any desired features, such as a diving board, slide, or waterfall.

7. Automatic Cover Installation: Once the pool is complete, we will install the automatic cover system. This involves installing a track system under the cantilevered decking, so that it is hidden and the cover can be opened and closed with a motor using either a switch that is contained in a locked box.

8. Final Inspection and Handover: After the installation is complete, Pools and Projects will conduct a final inspection to ensure that the pool and all systems are functioning properly. You will then be given a walk-through of the pool, including instructions on maintenance and operation.

Automatic Pool Cover

Overall, the installation process for an in-ground vinyl pool with cinderblock walls and an automatic cover can take 2-3 months, depending on the size and complexity of the project. However, with careful planning and attention to detail, the end result will be a beautiful and functional addition to any backyard.
